Fondly referred to as “GEO,” our K-12 independent study school provides a safe, welcoming environment to students and families who desire an educational alternative to traditional classroom learning experiences.  We provide choices for flexible learning paths and we guide students in defining and achieving their goals towards a high school diploma and beyond. Our highly qualified teachers support personalized learning to assist students in reaching their educational goals to be career and college ready by using one-on-one independent and home study instructional strategies. Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update Letter for Families
GUSD schools are closed to face to face instruction the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. GUSD will utilize the District website, school websites, email, and Parent Notification systems to communicate with families as we move forward with state directed distance learning and delivery of student meals.

Free Meals to School Aged Children
At this time we want you to be aware that the District will be able to supply supplemental free meals to children under 18 during this initial school site closure. Initially the meals will be a breakfast and lunch served at Buckeye School of the Arts and Shasta Lake School. Breakfast will be available via drive up line from 7:30 am to 8 am and lunch from 11 :30 to 12 pm. These meals will be served Monday through Friday and continue to during spring break and indefinitely until otherwise noted.

Kids in LibraryThe Shasta Lake Gateway Library has been a Nonprofit public library serving the community since January 1994. The Library's goal has always been to provide library services to the community, with the assistance of volunteers and "Friends of the Library" making regular donations of books, magazines, or money for the operation of the library. Shasta Lake Chamber of CommerceThe Shasta Lake Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization dedicated to meeting the needs of the business community by fostering economic opportunity and a favorable business climate.
